Finland - Vuokatti Hiihto – The pure experience for the end of the winter in the north
Vuokatti Hiihto is one of the most famous and biggest ski marathons in Finland with round about 2000 participants. It takes place on Vuokatti hills in the centre of the popular all-year-round holiday resort. Vuokatti Hiihto is well known for its compact competition area, welcoming atmosphere and best prepared ski tracks.
Vuokatti Hiihto Euroloppet fulfills all quality characteristics. The conditions for the participants are excellent. Directly at the start and finish, there are lots of accommodation nearby at Vuokatti Sports Institute. You will find 300 km of best prepared tracks over the hills and lakes around Vuokatti.
The Competition Centre is located direct at Vuokatti Sports Institute, which is the main training centre of the Finnish National Teams and other top athletes coming from over 30 different countries for training in summer or winter.
The first indoor ski tunnel of the world with a total track length of 2.4km guarantees the possibility of skiing during all year round. The winter season begins each year on 10th of October, thanks to tens of thousands of cubic meters of snow, which are stored during the summer.

Vuokatti is located in the middle of Finland. The nearest airport is in Kajaani (30 km) and there is always a 30 minutes bus connection direct to the biggest hotels and to the Sports Institute.
Daily flights from Helsinki (2x) makes the arrival very easy.
At the airports of Oulu and Kuopio (200km) run daily during the winter season (Finnair, Norwegian, Primera Air Nordic) and there is a regular bus connection between Oulu and Vuokatti (2:30h; 200km).
There are also connections by trains from Kajaani to Helsinki (6-8 hours) and a bus service from Kajaani to Vuokatti (30min).
