All tracks are challenging and run alternately in forest and open spaces. The Šumava is an ideal cross-country ski area and will challenge all runners at the Sumavsky Ski Marathon. With long moderate climbs, but also double-deck passages, the tracks in the Czech Republic are among the most beautiful in the Euroloppet series.

In the Bohemian Forest, near the Austrian / Bavarian border, in Kvilda near Vimperk, one of the highest situated municipalities of the Czech Republic, the Sumavsky Skimarathon starts. In the middle of the Sumava National Park every year the event attracts the cross-country skiers from many nations to the picturesque Außergefild plateaus.
Kvilda and the nearby Modrava are the major holiday centers of the Central Bohemian Forest. Many small inns on the trails and in the summer on the bike trails, invite you to rest and stop.
