The Jyväskylä Ski Marathon will be skied on 7 March 2026 from Vaajakoski (Jyväskylä) to Peurunka (Laukaa) with minor route changes. The 50 km course will be shortened by about five kilometres to 45 km. The 35 km course will be skied as planned. The 10 km distance will start in Vihtavuori (Laukaa) and follow the Metsoreitti trail to Peurunka. We will provide free transportation from Peurunka to the 10 km start.
The weather forecast for the event week still looks challenging, but the goal is to hold the event using both skiing techniques. The organisers will make the final decision regarding the routes and techniques on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. About 15 cm of snow fell in Jyväskylä and Laukaa during the night between Thursday and Friday, which has significantly improved the trail conditions.
We ask for participants’ understanding in these challenging weather conditions.
